freya: I come by it honestly! From a very young age, we were sent by our mother out into the woods (part of a city park) behind our house to pick garbage, for money! Great incentive, and the notion was therefore instilled in me at least at a young age that money could be made from garbage. At a minimum, garbage (or other peoples' discards) is a free source of material. Moreover, it keeps stuff out of the dump, or landfill as they prefer to call themselves. Waste has now become a favourite pre-occupier of mine and I find use and misuse of it endlessly fascinating, especially some of the creativity and ingenuity some people have! Hopefully you will find some interesting uses and topics here.
